BRGIE US Diplomatic Meeting with US State Department official Ambassador Tibor Nagy.

On September 3rd, 2025, BRGIE Acting Prime Minister Ogechukwu (APM) Nkere met with senior US diplomat and longtime State Department official Ambassador Tibor Nagy. Ambassador Nagy held varieties of diplomatic postings throughout the African continent, including as the Deputy US Ambassador to Nigeria during the time of Sani Abacha in the 1990's. In more recent years, Ambassador Nagy served as the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs at the US Department of State (2018-2021), and most recently as the Acting Under Secretary of State for Management from January-April of 2025. BRGIE APM Nkere provided Ambassador Nagy with a comprehensive briefing of Biafran issues, and Ambassador Nagy relayed to APM Nkere many thoughtful and strategic insights. BRGIE APM Nkere appreciates the opportunity to have met with Ambassador Nagy, and looks forward to further strengthening relations with the US diplomatic corp. BRGIE APM Nkere then subsequently had a second engagement with Ambassador Nagy for continued discussion.
