On January 9th, 2026, Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE) Active Prime Minister Ogechukwu Nkere met with Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), to discuss areas of mutual interest between BRGIE and the US Government. His Excellency Nkere, in addition to provide a general briefing about both Biafran issues and Christian genocide in Nigeria to Congressman Bilirakis, discussed strategic cooperation between the U.S. government and BRGIE in specific areas. Congressman Bilirakis is the Co-Chairman of the International Religious Freedom Caucus in Congress. His Excellency Nkere also thanked Congressman Bilirakis for his invaluable support to Biafran issues.
